Namastey!
To anyone around the world reading this, I hope you’re in good health and are doing just fine.
With everything going around in the world right now it is possible to feel extremely overwhelmed and anxious. But just remember that everything in this world is temporary, even your problems and take a deep breath and exhale all the negativity away from your body and your soul.
“Fhooooooooooooo”
Today we are going to share with you pretty concrete reasons why you should inculcate yoga in your daily routine (bonus: it includes feeling less overwhelmed with the current situation)

Yoga has come from a sanskrit word “yuji” which means union, it is the Union of the body and the mind. Yoga deals with physical exercises that include breathing, meditation and tend to reduce stress and promote relaxation to the body as well as the mind.

Here is how yoga changes your body and mind:
1- Physical Benefits:
There are a number of physical benefits of yoga, with the challenging poses yoga allows your muscles to take a breath of air by opening them and working on them.
Yoga helps you increase muscle flexibility, it is one of the best obvious benefit of yoga. Tight muscles can lead to pain and serious conditions of various body parts, it is important to give your body a stretch with yoga in the morning.

Yoga perfects your posture, There is no doubt that all of us are working from home sitting on our couch, bed, chair, or whatever platform you use to get your work done we are all sitting slouched, I bet even right now many of you may have that curved hunched back.
*Straighten up*
yoga (at least for a hunchwoman like me) has rectified my posture.

Yoga helps protect your spine, one of the main joints in your body that helps you sit, stand and do tons of work by maintaining a proper human posture.
Yoga betters your health!
Undoubtedly, working on your body is going to bring about changes and yoga is about to bring the good ones.
Yoga increases blood flow, with all those challenging poses (asanas) that require you to turn and twist your body (the inverted asanas) , the blood will find it’s way back to where it is needed. Even the breathing and relaxation yoga asanas get your blood flow working.

Yoga ups your heart rate, I will not lie I did yoga in my high school which consisted of simple asanas meant for children but it was not until now when I started taking yoga seriously, at the end of every session I would be sweating and my heart rate would be extremely fast. I didn’t know that could actually happen, until I started doing it on my own.

Yoga boosts your immunity, helps drop blood pressure, regulate your glands.
You can even do a little “feel good” yoga practice before you sleep, it will give a real good night sleep that we all long for.

So do it. And let us know how your body feels after a day’s practice, after a week’s practice.
2- Mental Benefits:
while practicing yoga you are supposed to keep your focus on your breath and let go of any tension which is built in your body as well as in your mind. This helps releasing stress and promotes relaxation. Multiple studies have shown that yoga can decrease the secretion of cortisol, the primary stress hormone.

Yoga has also proven to make you feel happier, one study found that a consistent yoga practice improved depression and led to a significant increase in serotonin levels and a decrease in the levels of monoamine oxidase (an enzyme that breaks down neurotransmitters) and cortisol.
Yoga poses also help you focus, focus on the balance which leads to overall improvement of concentration. Studies have found that regular yoga practice improves coordination, reaction time, memory, and even IQ scores.

We also recommend addition of meditation along with yoga practice. It is going to be a double attack (of benefit, of course)
We hope this post finds you in great health, please be safe and careful.
And Remember to practice Yoga to better your Health!
Stay Safe Stay Healthy!
