India has been hit destructively by the second wave of COVID-19 and there are two primary, basic and utterly important advices you need to follow
- Stay home, take precautions
- Get vaccinated

While the former one is still in discussions here why don’t we give you an ideal morning routine to follow? No no no before you think otherwise, we are not going to tell you to wake up at 5 am and start exercising. Everyone is an entirely different human being and following a specific routine which is made from a single person’s perspective is not importantly going to work for everyone. I have my own routine which is not and can never be followed by my sister, even though we are sisters, same blood. NO! she is a total different human being and I am different. So no one can tell you to do this or that or follow this or that, at the end of the day you won’t even feel like yourself. We are going to give you some crucial things you need to inculcate in your everyday routine in order to feel good the entire day. These are the activities I have been following for a few weeks, not very religiously just according to my moods.

- Your intentions above all: why are you doing what you are doing? To wake up early, to feel good, because I have nothing to do in the morning and I waste all my time aimlessly so I need to find ways to invest my time in habits that determine my future or can be anything. Mine was the third option. If you have clear intentions, your attention will flow rightfully. If you don’t know the why, you probably won’t last long with the routine you set up for yourself.
- Find a specific time to wake up: im not going to force a specific time to your face but I am going to have to ask you to select a time to wake up in the morning, which suits you well. Can be 8am or 5am. Depending on how busy you are throughout the day, but there is a threshold, i.e before 9am. If you are used to waking up at 9-10AM or even after that and one day you decide you wanna wake up at 5AM, well hun that is certainly not going to happen. You wanna wake up at 5AM one day it is not going to be tomorrow, you have to start slow, start by waking up at 8AM, then move to 7, then 6, and then 5AM. I am sure it is going to work. Waking up early has its own advantages, your brain will love you. But it is totally up to you. I wake up at 7AM it goes just fine with my schedule. I feel fresh when I wake up. Important: to feel good.
- And how are you going to wake up early when you don’t sleep on time: these days nearly every 8 out of 10 people have their sleep schedule messed up. You are not going to feel good when you wake up if you don’t sleep on time. I am not going to list several harm phones do to us when we don’t keep them aside when we need to, I know that you are perfectly aware of that. Sleep accordingly so that you get 7-8 hours of sleep. I am also well aware of the fact that sleep is a luxury but these days almost every other person is in isolation, and working or studying from home. So you need to prioritize your necessities.
- Do not touch your phone right after you wake up: everyday I wake and drink a glass of warm water and visit washroom. This habit has been repeated so much that now it has become an involuntary action. I don’t take my phone with me anywhere in the morning. So one of the ways to not indulge with your phone right in the morning is to occupy yourself with tasks that keep your mind off of phone. When I wake up I don’t even realize I have a phone for hours.
- Exercise: exercising or yoga for some minutes in the morning can make excellent elevations in your moods as well as your body. Exercising as well as yoga brings our mind to focus on the present, to focus inside our bodies. It brings about change, increase in heartbeat, blood pumping from the heart, increase in breath, sweat, it forces us to concentrate inwards. Moving our bodies does wondrous to both our brain and body.
- Shower / bath: after exercising you are sweaty, obviously. So, taking a shower is a must. Not only will your body thank you, but you will also thank yourself. I take a cold shower in the morning. Cold water wakes up your body and I swear I never feel fatigue or sleepy when I take a cold shower in the morning. It increases stimulation, it also reduces muscles soreness post-workout. Note: ensures glowing hair and skin. So, I don’t see a point in not working.
- Getting ready: growing up I always saw my mother getting ready in the morning no matter what. She would always put on a lipstick and make her hair, put on her outfits even though there was nowhere to go. Getting ready is therapeutic, it helps to prepare yourself for the day. You also feel like you have everything under your control. Getting ready puts you in a mood like there is no more sleeping now get to work.
- Having a goal for the day: we all have something to do but we just choose to procrastinate until the shit hits the fan. I have done this many a times before and I still haven’t gotten rid of this habit of mine of leaving things till the end. but I have gotten better though. I do one thing at a time or do one task per day. Make a checklist of things you need to do and then take one by one and keep on crossing the tasks from the list. Its high level satisfaction.
- Learning something everyday : now this step is completely optional but this will increase the functioning of your brain. Our brain has a lot of capacity and these days we’re just wasting our brain’s capability everyday during these quarantining days. So by learning I mean you can start by learning language, dance or solving mathematics, sudoku. Anything that interests you. You can start in small amounts. Engage your brain.
- Writing diary entry : dump your feelings. Or write down what you want to achieve during this day. Or just anything.
